CONCERTS The MHO has been doing concert-in-the-parks for many years in many cities in Southern California. Cities such as Anaheim, Buena Park, La Verne, Glendora, Yorba Linda, Brea, Cypress, Los Alamitos, Tustin, La Palma, Orange, Placentia, Westminster, Alhambra, Downey, Azusa, Cerritos, Lakewood, La Mirada, Signal Hill, Monrovia, Sierra Madre, and Whittier, just to name a few. Swing has always been popular with concert audiences. It always will be. These days, just a few years past the recent Swing revival, it is even more popular with the younger set. What a great way to get the young people and the older crowds to come to the same concert! The Mike Henebry Orchestra can put on a concert of not only swing era Big Band music, but also several other themes. For example, they can do an all Benny Goodman concert or an all Glenn Miller concert, all Duke Ellington, or all clarinetists concert (Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, etc.). With their enormous repertoire, they can do an all 1938 or all 1939 concert, or any other year of the Swing Era. This could be useful, for example, for a 60th, 65th or 70th anniversary of a city. Many other possibilities exist. |
