RECORDINGS: The MHO has two recordings available. Click on blue links, below, for track information and free sound samples of each track. The first recording, "Let's Dance," exemplifies the basic character of the band, in general, i.e., that of an authentic Swing Era Big Band. The other recording, "I'm Old Fashioned," is basically a showcase for our male vocalist, Jeff Gilbert. The band demonstrates its many moods and styles while backing Jeff. Click on the links below and give a free listen to the band! Recorded in a studio in 2000.Vocals by Luretta McCray and Jeff Gilbert. This recording exemplifies what the Mike Henebry Orchestra sounds like and what style they generally play. It also spotlights two very talented vocalists, both at the top of their fields.
This is the band's most recent recording. Recorded in 2004. Arguably, one
of the greatest singers of all time, vocalist Jeff Gilbert is featured on all 21
tracks. The band shows its versatility in accompanying him in many different
styles. Jeff demonstrates why many people think of him as one of the best
singers of all time. In addition to his vocal versatility, he also displays some
of his comedic and impersonation talents on a few of the tracks.
